Exciting news this week. I will be attending Jordan Con at the end of the month for the first time. Of all the conventions I’ve gone to over the past decade plus, many several times over, it’s truly amazing I’ve somehow never been to Jordan Con. Though, in a few short weeks, that will all change. And apparently the fates have deemed I do it up big.
Long story short, a friend had to drop from the event last minute, which opened up a table in Author’s Alley. I had already begun prepping for selling at upcoming events later in the year, picking up some vending essentials as you do over the past couple weeks, then of course this little windfall just jumps right into my lap.
Now, if there’s one thing I’ve learned thus far in my author career, it’s that golden opportunities do not come along very often, and when they do, it’s rare they come when expected. Expected or not, don’t pass them up. Whatever the challenge, so long as you’re hale and hearty, go at it with everything you got. Worst case scenario, you learn what works and what doesn’t. You can’t ever fixate on failure (or potential failure) as loss. You must view it as progression. So, to the wolves, I’m thrown.
It was a huge deal for me that I got accepted as a guest, where I will be on three panels that are scheduled between Friday afternoon and Saturday. But now throw this little author table cherry on top, and what more can I say? I’m very fortunate.
To those that plan to come out, I hope to see you there. As before, as always, until next time, may your luck stones prosper!
